World Tour Stop # 2: Warsaw
What You Can Do in 96 Hours

Warsaw, Poland; April 14-18

There’s not much of a narrative thread to weave about our 4-day sojourn in Warsaw. It was basically a 96-hour marathon of getting in quality visits with as many friends and relations as possible, with highest priority given to Jan’s wspaniała (wonderful) grandma and his aunt Anna up special from Krakow to see us.

Since a picture is worth 1000 words, here’s a wee sampling of who and what we saw in Warszawa (War-shava in Polish).

Grandma enjoying the April sun.

Anna showing us nature’s inspiration for her new Thai silk scarf.

Three of C's participants came from far far away to see us. Thanks, guys!

(right) A woman walking her “dog.” Leash laws are pretty strict in Poland.

Our friends told us that this unusual shed-free breed can be spotted regularly on Warsaw streets. Not much of a guard dog we hear, but great with the kids.

Łazienki Park (left), an 18th-century complex of palaces, parks and pavilions. Best known for its alfresco piano recitals - beside the Chopin Monument, of course.

Note: This is just a pretty picture of the park. There is nothing wrong with your browser if you cannot see any palaces, pavilions, piano recitals or Chopin Monuments.
