A Thai Long Weekend

Last weekend was the King's Birthday long weekend in Thailand. A very big deal to be sure! Every year on his birthday the king delivers a much-listened to speech. It's often philosophical and contains subtle commentary on what he thinks about how the politicians are running his nation. It's a very serious matter and so is the traffic coming in and out of Bangkok at either end of the weekend.

We went down south to Ranong province with Pi Su, Jan's counterpart from his Canada World Youth program last year. It was rainy and beautiful. We'll tell you a wee more about it soon, but we're just about off for another couple of days to help with the CWY orientation camp -- the teams just arrived from Canada.

[Photo of the Day] Monkeying around on a Motorbike

This picture isn't particularly good, but it's a guy with a monkey on his bike! Good thing the monkey is watching the road. It's shot with Cindy's new camera, out the back window of our speeding car.
